Draining a hot tub is simple and ensures its longevity. Start by turning off the power and allowing the water to cool. Connect a garden hose to the drain valve or use a submersible pump for quicker draining, directing the water to a safe location. Once drained, remove any residual water with a wet/dry vacuum or towels. Clean the tub with a non-abrasive cleaner, close the drain valve, and either refill the tub or cover it for protection. Regular draining every 3–4 months keeps your hot tub in top condition!
Filling up a hot tub is a straightforward process that begins with ensuring the tub is clean and the drain valve is securely closed. Connect a garden hose, ideally with a pre-filter, and place it in the filter compartment to help remove air from the plumbing. Fill the tub to the recommended level, usually around the midpoint of the skimmer, and check for leaks as the water flows. Once filled, power on the tub, balance the water chemistry, and set the heater to your desired temperature. After a few hours, your hot tub will be ready to enjoy!
