- Prepare the Hot Tub
- Ensure your hot tub is clean and filled with fresh water.
- Turn on the pump to circulate the water for better distribution of the chemicals.
- Test and Balance the Water
- Use a water test kit or test strips to measure pH, total alkalinity, and hardness.
- Adjust pH to 7.2–7.8 and total alkalinity to 80–120 ppm as recommended.
- Ensure the water hardness is within the appropriate range (150–250 ppm).
- Shock the Water
- Add a non-chlorine shock to the water to eliminate contaminants before starting the FROG® @ease system.
- Allow the water to circulate for 15–20 minutes after shocking.
- Install the FROG® @ease Floating System
- Remove the FROG® @ease SmartChlor® and mineral cartridges from the packaging.
- Attach the cartridges to the floating holder, following the instructions on the packaging.
- Set the SmartChlor® dial to the recommended setting for your hot tub size.
- Place the Floater in the Hot Tub
- Gently place the floating system in the hot tub water.
- Allow it to float freely, ensuring the cartridges remain upright for proper chemical distribution.
- Monitor and Maintain Water Quality
- Test the water weekly using the included FROG® @ease test strips.
- The system will maintain chlorine levels automatically, so you only need to adjust the SmartChlor® dial if required.
- Replace Cartridges as Needed
- The mineral cartridge lasts up to 4 months and should be replaced when refilling the hot tub.
- The SmartChlor® cartridge lasts 3–4 weeks, depending on usage, and will need replacement when empty (floater flips over or chlorine levels drop).
- Shock the Water Monthly
- Add a non-chlorine shock once a month or as needed to maintain water clarity and quality.
Tips!
- Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the FROG® @ease system.
- Store unused cartridges in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Regularly check and clean the hot tub filter to ensure optimal performance.
